Wilbert’s journey in agricultural machinery began in 1983, as an 18-year-old eager to learn the ropes. After two decades working in the industry, we saw an opportunity to do things his way – with integrity, quality and service at the heart of every decision.
In 2003, we launched Agtec Machinery in Masterton NZ, a small operation that has grown steadily over the years into today’s Scimitar. Despite four other machinery businesses already operating in the region, we carved out our place by offering a reliable service, and superior craftsmanship with integrity.
Today, we’re still family-owned and operated, now being supported by the next generation, bringing fresh ideas and energy to Scimitar.

We’re problem solvers, and constantly look for ways to improve our products by integrating new technologies and refining our designs so farmers can get more done with less effort.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our range of products to include folding levellers, Cambridge rollers, rubber-tyred rollers, flat field rollers, transfer rollers, and tipping trailers.

Our trailers are built tough with tandem axles that pivot on 65mm or 75mm pins with Vesconite bushes – meaning less lubrication, massive load capacity, and long-lasting reliability. Every trailer is sandblasted and finished with durable two-pot paint for maximum protection.
